Special solutions – it all starts with the cable
The standard winches made by KÖSTER already cover a very wide range of applications.
However, there are requirements concerning conditions beyond those of the standard with regard to defined loads, the desired cable speed or specific environmental conditions that need to be taken into consideration and for which special solutions must be found.
The core competence of KÖSTER lies in developing a customised product for every conceivable application.
Stage and entertainment
For our standard hand-operated winches , we have of course the special safety regulations after that apply to public areas in which persons under suspended loads reside ( theaters, studios , department stores , etc. )
The special features at a glance:
- Two automatic mechanical brakes operate independently, and thus are held safely and securely at every position
- Cable is wound up in a single layer
- Equipped with cable pressure roller
Extreme environmental conditions
Polar region
Special winch for raising and lowering, in this case, a sensitive sensor up to a depth of 3,000 m in the water designed for temperatures up to minus 45°C.
Desert region
Running wagons, designed for weather conditions like sand storms, increased atmospheric salt content and extreme temperature fluctuations between day and night, are hauled between two winches with walk drives on rail.
Integrated package solutions
A cable winch is often part of an overall requirement. On the one hand this means that the specific requirements to which the winch will be subjected subsequently must be defined correctly, while on the other hand (and above all) the overall project in which the winch is integrated must be taken into account completely.
Exploiting its many years of experience KÖSTER has developed great expertise in the development of integrated solutions. These solutions have been put to the test in the realisation of various projects in many different sectors, often under extremely difficult conditions.
