Steel water control structures and fittings

Our modern steel water control structure products have been born of decades of experience in costal protection, water management and building of dams. They are manufactured to the highest quality levels, and in line with all recognised technological rules and standards, such as for example DIN 19704. We attach great importance to robust and reliable design. For instance, the plate thickness is selected with ample reserves and the ribs are of large surface area design and fully welded to the sluice door.

All components are produced at our plant in Heide. The in-house foundry produces the cast iron gate valves. Our comprehensive manufacturing facilities also enable us to be your specialists for customised designs and re-casts of disused or broken castings. We manufacture in timber, cast materials, black steel and stainless steel.

A word about castings

We have been producing high-grade grey cast iron for over 120 years. The water engineer and sewage treatment plant operator greatly appreciate our experience and the value associated with grey cast iron, for this material has a number of excellent advantages over stainless steel.

Grey cast iron consists of a highly robust hard skin and a soft body leading to high wear resistance at high tensile strengths. Grey cast iron corrodes considerably less than other iron or steel products. It is highly resistant to aggressive water as well as to acids and leach in sewage treatment plants. Obviously, grey cast iron can also be additionally protected against outside influences by coating it with special rust-proofing agents. Because of their metallurgical properties, and large wall thickness, grey cast iron products are of longer service life than light steel or stainless steel products. They can also be restored after decades of service and subsequently last for a long time. Stainless steel components reveal rust as soon as they make contact with steel parts made of 5t37 or other ferritic materials, e.g. grinding chips issuing from grinding disc work nearby. Grey cast iron components do not display these disadvantages.

We are, of course, certified in accordance with DIN ISO 9001 and our welders are all fully qualified.

Documentation is available for all products. A certified structural analysis report can be supplied upon request.

We also repair and assemble other makes. A number of experienced teams along with service vehicles are available for installation and start-up.

It will be our pleasure to support you right from the planning stage through to final acceptance, and shall be happy to visit your offices for this purpose.
