The work required in repairs and overhauls is frequently similar, or even identical, but often necessary for very different reasons. Repair work is normally required due to damage, regular overhaul, on the other hand, is recommended – at least in the case of high-grade pumps – every 5 to 15 years, regardless of the load under which they operate. The scope of repair or overhaul work varies greatly but always coincides with each individual case and its needs – simply because on Köster products all parts are replaceable or can be renewed.

Köster treat repair and overhaul contracts with exactly the same degree of care and commitment to quality as when building new machines. Our desire is not to simply get a piece of equipment more or less running again just after the warranty period has expired. As far as quality and operational reliability are concerned, anything that leaves our workshops must be comparable with a new product. When taking the prudent economic view, namely not just considering the one-off costs but the total costs associated with a machine’s lifecycle, this approach must always take pride of place over the cost-minimised “rush job”, which in the final analysis reduces costs but leads to inferior quality.
