Employee job profiles

KÖSTER is a machine building company basing its claim to high product quality mainly on the fact that all products sold under the name of KÖSTER are produced in our own manufacturing facilities. Thanks to the in-house foundry, our production depth ranges on a large number of products from delivery of the pig iron, all forming, machining and assembly operations to final rust-proofing. Such an all embracing approach to securing top quality is seldom found nowadays in our modern world and its division of labour. All this is, however, is not achievable without the untiring support of a broad spectrum of qualified staff.

The team of engineers (certified and graduate) comprises engineers in the fields of machine construction, welding technology, building construction and water management.

Master craftsmen with long years of experience head the individual production facilities. The term or predicate “long service” is not something we award frivolously but must be “hard earned” over a period of decades of service to the company. Our craftsmen are fully qualified in the fields of turning, foundry, fittings, steel construction, machine construction and electro-technology. One of them is responsible for training the young apprentices.

Our skilled workers are the backbone of the company. Their experience and ability are the prime factors in ensuring our products operate perfectly over many years, even under the most arduous conditions. Bricklayers, carpenters, painters and varnishes, welders, foundrymen, toolmakers, model builders and joiners and truck drivers find employment at Köster in addition to the core professions in the metalworking sector.

We also train male and female staff on the commercial side enabling them to work, fully qualified, in the procurement, sales and accounts departments.

Our erection engineers are our “flag fliers”, enjoying a very special position. They are used to working on complex construction sites and co-operating with other site installations, watched by the public and customers – very often battling against time into the bargain. One could say they are “Jacks of all trades”, proficient in virtually all aspects of machine construction, and fully equipped to master unforeseen situations (which crop up again and again).
